our view from the 'waiting room'

Had a great sail (for a change) to Isla Denzante even w/o any wind in the forecast and saw a large school of dolphins that swam right up to the boat, some in 3's and perfect unison while 'jumping' in and out of the water! THEN we (Scott) hit a submerged (in 40 ft of water) rock (!!!) coming into Honeymoon Cove - scared the h___ out of us - we found out later that it only caused some long scratches and 1 dent which Scott was able to mostly fix with under water epoxy, ie - no haul out! After trying 2 different anchorages unsuccessfully, near or in Honeymoon Cove we gave up and headed into the Waiting Room of Puerto Escondido to recover and check the damage. Saw a National Geographic ship at the dock.
A woman we din't know offered us the use of her truck, which we took into Loreto (15 miles away) to reprovision and check out the town-very nice. Even saw some folks we met in San Carlos- s/v Ez Duz It. Puerto Escondido has services now: laundry, internet access, showers (though we heard cold) a fuel dock and water - so we took advantage!
Went to a fun b-day party on S/V Angelos and met mostly everyone we've heard on the morning net! Nice people! Great place. We'd like to come back and do some hiking and such.
