windy sunny fabulous
We departed False Bay, desitnation Hornby Island, this morning and found wind! Yeah! Here is the thing on a sailboat, you can find great wind but if it is going the wrong direction you can always change direction. We were "close hauled" or Pointing up the wind. Reverie is a hunter sailboat and this make is known to sail very well close to the wind. We had a good 20kn. rails almost in the water, but it was going to be a longish slog, so we jibed and headed down wind to Jedidiah. It was gorgeous! There is nothing like sailing with a good wind at your back! I always marvel that wind along can move this large vessel. The dreamy state takes over me and time seems like it simply stands still. The world seems far away .....
The wind backed off a bit so the fishing rod went out and we were trolling. We didn't catch a fish but we were fishing. We arrived at Deep Bay, Jedidiah Island to have the entire bay to ourselves for the day. Rick set out traps so we enjoyed Crab for dinner. Yum!
