Ivan and I took RG out on a beautiful fall day. It was windy with sustained wings in the 9-12 range with frequent gusts in the 20's. In the picture we are just leaving our slip and heading out under the bridge with captain Ivan at the tiller. I took this picture coming up from checking on how Maggy the motor was running, (purring like a kitten). We sailed around Turkey point and up the Elk river. It was a fantastic sail. We made Hull speed (about 6.4 knots) the entire trip. Amazingly my repaired Genoa held up to the constant gusts of wind. This was the hardest we had sailed The Rusty Gem since we got her. WOW is all I can say, gotta love those windy fall days!!!
