Vacation's over, maybe

Happy Labor Day! It really was labor day 21 years ago as I went into labor with Lynsie on this day.
We awoke with the sunshine at about 6;15 and out of bed shortly thereafter. We got the anchor up and on our way to Oxnard by 7. We sure can move! There was no wind, even in windy lane so it was a motor boat ride. We were greeted by a couple of pods of dolphins who were happy to swim with the boat and provide entertainment as we stood on the bow sprit and watched them below our feet zooming around on the bow wake. The water just looks so fresh and clean here it really does amaze me as for some reason I had heard that with the oil rigs in the channel and all the commercial boats that it was very dirty.
We got checked into the Anacapa Isle Marina Resort which is a first class place. They are Baja HaHa sponsors so we get 50% off which makes it still cheaper than other places here in the basin. The Oxnard Basin is huge, containing several marina, condos, apartments, restaurants and businesses. We haven't been yet but we hear we can take our dinghy under the bridge and tour around neighborhoods of house built on the canals. Rumor also has it that we can dinghy right to the back parking lot of a Vons grocery store! The marina itself is very nice with swimming pools, sauna, laundry, club house and very very nice friendly staff. This will be a nice place to stay for the next 10 days while I do my work.
We'll be here at least through the next 10 days as I have a project that is getting closed and will require my full time attention not to mention cell/internet/post office means. So, Scott has his list of boat chores to work on and I'll see if I can get some projects closed out on my end.
Thanks so much for the comments, we do miss everyone so much and are glad you are enjoying the blog!
The photo is the moon as it rose a couple nights ago out here over the east side of Santa Cruz Island. Man, hand me a rum punch cause it just doesn't get any better!
