Christmas in Mexico

Christmas in Mexico is a lot of things but it is not cold and snowy or raining. We spent the day with Jeff and Cheryl and ended with a potluck with the other cruisers here at Marina Palmira. We had 40 people attend and had a great time, good food and wonderful company.
We awoke and found that Santa had left a few things here for Jeff and Cheryl, we call it the Christmas sponsored by West Marine. In doing the Baja HaHa West Marine was a big sponsor and as such gave away a lot of swag to the participants. So, Jeff an Cheryl benefited this Christmas by receiving a deck of cards, two Frisbees, a beer cooler pack and a couple of little items picked up by the crafters here in town. After gifts we took showers and I began cooking. Low and behold, I am not a pie baker but I did manage to bake two pumpkin pies here on the boat. I had to make my own evaporated milk (reduced on the stove for two hours), and used a wine bottle to roll the pie crust but it was all eaten at the potluck and it was good! I also had a turkey breast I cooked up to contribute and others brought their own traditional foods. It was a feast!
Today we'll make our way to CCC the grocery store here to stock up on food for the next five days we plan on being out at anchor and then tomorrow we'll shove off and head out to Isla San Francisco and then work our way back to La Paz where we plan to spend New Years Eve. My big 50 B'day will be spend at anchor with my fantastic husband and great friends.
