Becca's Visit

03 April 2010 | La Paz
Monica
Becca left today and we feel an empty spot in our lives. Becca is such a lively, energetic, bubbly person she leaves a wake in her absence.

During her short, too short if you ask us, visit we went to Isla San Francisco and anchored for two nights, walked the beach and climbed the hill for photo opportunities. Becca collected enough puka shells to make 3 necklaces and an ankle bracelet. She is quite the artsy person; like her dad!

Our time out at the island was great, wonderful weather and we swam off the boat but didn't end up going snorkeling. Upon our return on Thursday we were head on into waves and wind making for a very bumpy passage. Becca stayed in her bunk the whole time which was impressive given the 6 foot seas and lumps we were taking. We're sure she went weightless a few times. We even had green water all over the decks which leaked down into the back lazzerete where water then found it way into our aft cabin, ugg. We were concerned until we found out where it was coming from.

Really, the seas here after a norther or South wind are worse than we faced coming down the coast last summer! We never took water onto the boat the whole trip south and here we regularly get a green water wash down.

This was Holy week here, Semana Santa so many stores were closed so we couldn't give the professional shopper a true taste of the La Paz experience. Scott and Becca did walk around and get some souvenirs on Friday while I did some work.

All in all, I think although our life is probably too slow paced for a young girl like Becca the visit was long enough to get a good view of our life here and for her to soak up some Daddy time. Scott sure enjoyed it and will be sad for the next few days while he counts the days until he sees his daughters again.
