Warm Waters

09 September 2010 | Agua Verde
Monica
I stand corrected from my last post when I estimated the water temperature. It is not 85 but 90 degrees! Yep, we got out our hand held gauge and took the temperature, it was 90 in Agua Verde and I just measured here in Candeleros and it is also 90 degrees.

Scott and I are both enjoying life and the summer here in the sea. What a summer to pick as our inauguration. Everyone is saying how it is cooler than normal and very pleasant which is our general impression as well. We had one morning this past week where we woke up to 79 degrees in the cabin. The highs are around 92 each day with the majority of the day's temperature around 88-89. By bedtime it has been down to 83 or so. We heard on the morning SSB net today that up north in the Bay of LA they were having low 70's for their morning lows and people were looking for blankets.

When we first returned in July it seems we had the peak of the high temperatures and cooling to 91 overnight, doable but not comfortable long term so we are finding this a whole lot more enjoyable along with the warm water.

Our plans have us moving a couple miles north to Honeymoon Bay, directly across from Puerto Escondido on Saturday then over to 8:30 cove in Juncilito on the other side of the hills surrounding Puerto Escondido on Monday where we should have cell/internet coverage. Our goal is to be out 3 weeks without having to go into port and spend any money. We are down to one box of milk, half a box of cereal, no c-lite (a drink mix like coolaid), no bread, 6 tortillas, half a chicken, two chicken breast, a package or arrachera and most alarmingly, a bit more than half a bottle of tequila! We actually have other stuff such as staples but the tequila level is definitely a concern.
