Survived Georgette

Just a quick note to say we survived the storm! It was a non event as it happened. Georgette went up the center of the sea and we had no wind, about 2 inches of rain and some lighting in the distance, not overhead.
The boat hasn't been this clean since we left Seattle! The canvas and all the rigging is bright, no white spots and the deck has no grime, sand or crud next to the toe rail where it seems to accumulate. The lines are all soft again and not stiff with salt, it is a wonderful thing! It has been so long we've forgot just how refreshing a nice rain can be. Of course, we were still about 88 degrees and wearing bathing suits so no real hardship. We read most of the day and played hatch dodge as the rain showers would swing by. I got a nap and baked which is a custom for me when it is stormy.
Scott has gone all around the boat spiffing and polishing things and feels under control and ready to pull out in the morning. We'll head out with boat friends on Chat Del Mar and see which way the wind blows us.
