South We Go

21 October 2010 | Agua Verde
Monica
We are on our way South. We spent the weekend in Puerto Escondido, our summer home base, and said goodbye to the friends we'd made there and went South 7 miles to Candeleros with Steve and Charlotte on Willful Simplicity. We finally got to catch up with them back aboard their boat and had a great time catching up and trading plans. We didn't get to post pictures as hoped while in Puerto Escondido due to very slow internet connection but will post to the gallery when back plugged into La Paz. We are now in Agua Verde making a slow passage to La Paz over the next 10 days.

We feel like we've survived the summer in the Sea and are looking forward to our second year in Mexico. As it is now a year we will need to renew our fishing licenses, park passes and our Mexican boat insurance. We have a pretty good size contingent of friends from last year on dock 3 at Palmira returning. Heidi and Terry, we can't wait to catch up with you two! We've seen reservations on the board there for several others we know like Risk Taker, Sea Bear, Isabella and I'm sure lots of new people who will become fast friends in the marina environment.

We had our lines out trolling on our way here and ended up with two lures stolen. I can't believe that both had the leaders bit off, we saw the one dorado but didn't see what bit the other. They were coated wire and we were left with raw edges. We'll head out to troll around five to see if we can get a pargo or cabrilla. If not, bacon and eggs for dinner. Good thing we're going home at Thanksgiving as we'll need to buy more fishing equipment.
