Ahhh Summer Again

It took us down to the Puerto Vallarta area to find summer again. We arrived in La Cruz yesterday afternoon after leaving Mazatlan on Tuesday and sailing one night and having an overnight stop at the anchorage in San Blas. We are glad to be here. We’d have to say we were underwhelmed with Mazatlan and are now looking forward to exploring the La Cruz community.
It is 3pm and the temperature is 77 degrees. This morning we were able to have our coffee out in the cockpit again (me wearing my jammies) and be comfortable. This is the Mexico we signed up for! We have decided to stay out in the anchorage and save some pesos as the marina here is pretty pricey. We’ll go in for a week or so later before we head south again but for now are feeling good where we’re at. How long we’ll stay we don’t know. I sure would like to go further south but there are two of us here and the other half might just be content to stay here for a while.
The trip down from Mazatlan was spectacular! We had a moonless night which allowed viewing of the stars and the phosphorescence in the water glowed as we moved through it. We saw whales, turtles, and dolphins oh my! It was just amazing. We motor sailed the entire way with the motor only off for about 2 hours. The wind was light and the seas very manageable.
