The Excitement Builds

Oh am I so neglectful! It has been a while since I’ve updated the blog. Scott and I were talking about why that is and the only thing we could come up with was that being in our second year we are having lots of repeats so it seems less exciting and worthy of sharing. I know pretty lame but it is the best I can come up with for an excuse!

We had a great time at Loreto Fest in Puerto Escondido. It was fun seeing the crowd there and catching up with everyone. The Fest was a success, I won a Mexican Train domino game and Scott got to play his guitar on stage and sing for the crowd. A norther starting blowing on Saturday so by Saturday night we were boat bound as we had gusts up to 44 knots with steady wind in the mid-twenties and some mooring painters had let go sending boats drifting through the anchorage. They ended up canceling the potluck dinner and a lot of people just laid low until Tuesday when it calmed down. Since the crowd thinned appreciatively on Sunday we had a free hotdog and margarita or bloody mary party on Tuesday until everything was gone.

The trip both up to PE and back to La Paz was uneventful. The water is warming up and is mid 70 or so. We still haven’t caught our season first dorado but we are starting to hear of people catching them so they are coming back. We stayed in Isla San Francisco for 3 days on the way back to La Paz, cleaned the boat bottom and collected shells to bring back for the daughters.

We are getting the boat ready to leave while we travel back to Seattle for either a few weeks or the summer. Whichever will depend on the rental houses. The excitement is building as we look forward to seeing our family and friends again. We can’t wait!
