We love this new spot just outside of Agua Verde. Agua Verde is a great spot but this offers a bit more seclusion and no other boats. We end up spending 3 days here swimming, snorkeling and just having a great time with us girls. So far there hasn’t been any challenge too great. We’re even doing ok working around the chartplotter issue; as mentioned earlier, we know where we’re going so it isn’t a matter of route planning just rock and reef avoidance.

After a quick trip into the tienda at Agua Verde which we moved the boat and anchored out in front of the town we start moving north. It is Sunday, our last week before the “real” Capitan re-joins the crew. The plan is to go to Chico Candeleros, just south of Puerto Escondido. We cruise by and find that this is just too small of a cove for us to find comfortable. The wind is starting to pick up a little bit as well so we would rather find a spot on the west side of somewhere so Honeymoon Cove seems like the logical spot.

Once through the cut past Candeleros we have limited cell coverage so I call Scott to give him an update and find out how he is fairing. We no sooner say our hellos then I hear the whirl of the fishing reel and we got ourselves a Dorado! Lynsie reels it in and I clean and filet it to get it in the fridge, yum, finally fresh fish. Scott, after being hung up on suddenly proceeds to call six times while we’re busy so after we get things back under control and moving forward again I call him back. I no sooner explain the sudden exit of our last call and Lynsie says we have another fish on the hand line! So, sorry Scottie, we’ll catch up later, and we bring it in, clean and filet this one as well only put it in the freezer.

We cruise up to Honeymoon Cove to find it full so onward we go searching for a good east protected spot and come across Bahia Marquer, a first time here for Scott Free. Anchor down and things all straighten up and I call Scott back and we give each other the full debriefing and get caught up with each other’s lives.

Bahia Marquer is on Isla Carmen, directly across from Puerto Escondido and will be a good spot to hang until time to take the boat into Loreto to meet Scott at the marina for his much awaited arrival home.
