We’re leaving we’ve leaving!

We are finishing up the last touches to be able to leave the dock. First thing in the morning we are heading out to anchor for the first time since last May. The watermaker filters have been changed so we can re-activate that once out of the harbor and our cabinets and fridge/freezer are full. Tonight we’re having dinner with our Kiwi friend Kevan aboard his new to him boat.

Yesterday was a wonderful dock party to celebrate the re-naming of a boat recently bought by a very kind Canadian family. Dolby has become Vida Rica (good life) with the blessing of the sea god Neptune. They and several other boats are leaving today to head out after the seas have calmed from this week’s norther. Another group will join us tomorrow as we leave.

Both Scott and I have talked at length lately about how wonderful Mexico is. I can’t emphasize enough if anyone is considering coming down with your boat that the community and people here are better than you could imagine. Yes life is slower and things take longer but how sweet that is! It has changed so much since we arrived in 2009 as far as product availability and even the number of fellow cruisers who have cars. With Walmart, Home Depot, Mega and the excellent inventory of Lopez Marine you have a hard time not finding things. Oh, there are odds and ends, I looked at 3 grocery stores before I found curry powder, and crunchy peanut butter is a rare find but we do not want for anything here.
