Gig Harbor was nice

05 May 2007
We were able to dock at the city park dock this time through Gig Harbor. Last summer/fall it was always full so we anchored out. After the maximum two nights at the park, we moved to the Tides Tavern dock. It sure is nice to have free places in this otherwise expensive little town.

While we were here, we had Steve and Lana Benson over for dinner, John went provisioning with Steve at the PX, we went out for dinner with Andy and Monica Carberry, and I updated the website. Whew! That's a lot for retired people to do. John also had to fix the shower because we discovered that the winter freeze had popped a plug in it, and he added a 12V outlet under the settee where I sit to work on the computer.

This has also been the week that our nephew Joel Stocks graduated from the Culinary Institute of America. The whole Stocks family and Mom went back to New York for the occasion, and I've been thinking about them.

Now it's time to continue north. We don't know where we'll be anchoring for the next few nights — up to a week or so actually — so we don't know if we'll have Internet. We have plenty of other things we can do, though, if we can't connect.
