Finally some Dungeness

03 July 2007
No bears or orcas on our way to this landlocked lagoon, but the Dungeness crab we hoped for are here. John just came back with three legal ones. That's more than we can eat in one meal for the first time this trip. The rain continues off and on, and the clouds are low - blocking the view of the mountains - so we may stay here another night and get more crab.

The weather this summer really makes us appreciate our good fortune last year. We complained because we either had no wind or wind in our faces, but at least it was sunny. We haven't had a streak of nice sunny weather since May, just an occasional day.
