Small world of cruisers

15 September 2007 | Emeryville, CA
John was in the dinghy and yelling a question to me a little while ago when Juniata (Dave and Marcia) motored past. They're staying in a friend's slip on our dock for a couple of days and may even be around to send us off Monday morning before they go on up to Vallejo, their old home marina. We first talked with them in Klaskino Inlet on the west coast of Vancouver Island in July, but we first saw them in Bull Harbour before we went around Cape Scott. They're the boat who helped us figure out that we had a problem with our SSB radio and the one we called to verify that we had the problem fixed. They were in Coos Bay at the time. It was exciting to see them. It made me, at least, feel like a world cruiser.

Looking at the Baja Ha-Ha entry list just now, I noticed a boat named Symphony from Vancouver. That prompted me to send a quick note to Jeri and John of Journey because I seem to recall that they were traveling with a Symphony when we last saw them in Douglas Bay. (I liked the name.) No answer back yet.
