We have been actively planning to cruise to warmer waters for five years, and now we have only 9 weeks until we head out of Puget Sound turn south and keep cruising south until the butter melts! The project list is getting longer instead of shorter, and although we have talked to other cruisers that it is always so the reality is daunting. We have to install new batteries, battery charger, high out put alternator, chart plotter, radar, water maker, SSB and AIS. It adds pressure just to type these words. Going public on this Blog makes it more painful.
Our cruising plans which we thought were personal to us actually has a name: The Big U! We plan to go south along the west coast to Mexico. From there prior to the 2011 Pacific Huricane season we head further south eventually to transit the Panama canal, up through the western Caribean and on to the east coast of the US. It turns out this is know as the Big U
Apparently so many boats are doing it there is an association.
