Yellow card

Well, Connie and I received our yellow cards today. No We are not secretly participating in the World Cup but rather received our international record of immunizations. We received our Tetanus, diptheria, and pertusis, as well as yellow fever innoculations. We were also given, script for malaria, and an oral vacine for typhoid to be taken later. It is presently in our fridge since it is a live vacine. All of this came about as result of my wife doing research on tropical disease. We went to a travel doctor this morning and gave them a list of countries on our itinerary Mexico, El Salvador, Costa Rica, Panama, Equador,Peru, Columbia,Guatamala,Belize and back to Mexico. The result was a recommendation for the innoculations above.
Quite frankly I havent heard from a lot of other cruisers who got similar innoculations. The shots were easy, the typhus is simply 4 treatments every other day for a week, but the Malaria is a pill taken every day for the time of exposure which for us is almost 2years! We will be getting the cost on this later this week but we know two people who have gotten Marlaria.
We are also picking up two different anti biotics for possible infections. We believe it pays to manage your own health care so there we are.
Any in put from the veteran cruisers or medical professionals?
