Night off
09 April 2011 | Marina Chauhue
Hot
Friday, Kokomo left us at the marina and anchored out, but we stayed to complete projects and wait for the laundry. We have been working non stop on the boat and decided to treat ourselves to a night out. We got recommendations from a long time Expat resident (here in the Marina Misty Michael) and headed into town.
We stumbled on an Italian restaurant and had a traditional Italian dinner.
After enjoying our meal we wandered around town and literaly ran into the gang Connie had met in Z town when I was sick, plus Kokomo, so we went in for a beverage and music to cap off the evening
There are now six or more boats enjoying Huatalco and waiting to cross the Tehaunipec later next week.
In my mind this was always simply a place to spend some time before crossing but I was pleasantly surprised... this is a neat and clean little town, with good shopping, and restaurants and very proud and friendly people. In addition the anchorages are beautiful white sand with warm clear water and good skorkeling. They are primarily fair weather anchorages however which is what we expect at this time of year.
Plan on being in El Salvador before Easter which I understand is an interesting celebration there.
