End of Rally Party

Rain!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Saturday night was the end of the rally party and a wonderful affair it was.
We were hosted by the hotel, and various dignataries from the country including the Minister of Tourism. There was dinner and a fabulous band and prizes for all who attended. This is the second year for the rally and we had 52 boats participating. What a wonderful way to be introduced to Central America and El Salvador in particular. Many boats will begin a migration south but others of us will stay for a month or more to take in the sites in Central America. For most cruisers we have met and all (except Saucy Lady) of the cruisers from our home yacht club in Tacoma, cruising is a seasonal affair in Mexico rarely getting farther south than Zihouanetnejo. We are here to tell you there is plenty of cruising south and we plan to take it all in.
El Salvador is working hard to make this a great place to stop and take in the sites. Stay tuned and we will update you on our travels.
One note of change is the rain!!! Friday we had an afternoon thunder boomer with plenty of rain. And Saturday the thunder boomers came in at midnite. This is our first rain in 6months! and we were not completely prepared. The new awning is protecting us from sun but will require modifications for rain and unfortunately the side ports must be completely dogged or they leak. But we are getting a nice rinse down from all the sea salt which is a good thing.
counting down to Andrew and Stephanie's arrival on Saturday
