Can we Go?

24 June 2011 | Bahia Del sol
Rain at night
We continue to enjoy our routine in El Salvador with small boat projects, reading, and then gather at the pool in the after noon for the "cruisers net"
For example last night at the pool Becky (Kokomo) suggested a bring your own meat BBQ for next week. (the hotel provides the sides for $3) She originally said July 4th but we want to be gone..... but can we.... will we be gone? You see we cant just leave! We have to get permission from the port captain and he has to believe we can exit through the surf at the bar crossing. And as the season goes on it will be harder to do with fewer windows of low surf. You see if there is a big surf we can't get out. The high horsepower power boats can sometimes power through but we only go 6 kts and we cant leave safely in big surf which is forecasted for next week (and the forecast only goes out one week) Our hosts say we should simply wait until late September or early October but that doesn't fit well with our current itinerary or budget.
The boat pix in the surf is not us but is the bar we need to cross.
The good news it is inexpensive to live here and pretty quiet. Maybe I should start that novel and beat my son to the punch
