Life on the estuary

Life on the estuary continues slow and easy. The rally is over most of the boats or more accurately the people have moved on but we are anchored in a fleet of almost 30 boats, but only people on a handful, plus two or three at the marina. Where we used to have 20plus in the pool in afternoon it is only a hand ful now. Many people have gone "home" to the US or Canada and left their boats on the mooring balls here.
The picture is of SV Sweetie who actually had their boat hauled and they painted the bottom. Literally in the jungle. This is a couple who have lived aboard for years and as expected need to keep doing maintenance so where ever they can they haul or work on the boat. They have a summer full of projects to complete while they wait for better weather to go south.
What you can't see is this travel lift is on an island. To get the travel lift to the island is was transported disassembled in a sealand container..... ok so far so good. But there is no way to transport the container to the island... so they towed it with a panga while pumping with bilge pumps and a gas generator to keep it afloat long enough to tow it to the island! They towed into the mangrove mud and opened the container and re assembled the travel lift... voila haulout facilites available.
