Drake Bay

Note: Editor Did not post timely!
Thursday July 21 We left Bahia Herradura, and sailed overnight to Drake Bay.
This was a trip of about 85 miles and were able to sail much of the way or motor with very little rpm to provide sufficient progress. We arrived and anchored Friday morning in Drake Bay. The night was moon and stars with rain and lightening threatening but never materializing. All in all a very pleasant sail.
Drake Bay has been a pleasant surprise. Not really thought of as a good anchorage it was on our list simply to break up the longer journey to Golfito. However, it is a wonderful little bay if a little rolly with clear warm water for swimming, and a small town for supplies and all sorts of "eco lodges". Costa Rica has captured a significant tourist dollar as the eco friendly country. For example this little tiny town had a "recycle center" There are back to nature tent camps as well as a high end hotel all located here in the bay. We have stayed an extra day and enjoyed the bay and the unusual "dry" weather. This after noon we leave for another overnight sail to our final Costa Rican stop Golfito. This should have laundry, wifi and a few amenities so we can blog once again with picture.
