Golfito
03 August 2011 | Land and Sea
Sunny morning rainy pm
We have been in Golfito and Land and Sea for ten days now and the time has flown, it seems like a lot less. Tim the proprietor of land and sea for the last 18 years asked us how long we would stay and we said 4-5 days and he said everyone stays longer and he was right. Land and Sea was recommended by many and it has been easy and comfortable, with mooring balls and internet and a "cruisers clubhouse" with a dry place to hang out, drinks on the honor system and showers and garbage. That is all most cruisers are looking for. Tim and Katy came down here in 1994 bought a cute water front house and hung out some mooring balls and invited cruisers. However, the Costa Rican goverment has changed the rules on how long a boat can stay (90) which has significantly reduced their business. Now they concentrate on the land side of land and sea with real estate and rentals. The pix is the dock at land and sea
