Monday we will transit the canal . Yesterday and today was preparations.
Saturday we had 8 tires wrapped in plastice and 4 125ft lines delivered to the anchorage. Our taxi driver arranged this for us and will pick up our crew on the other side for return trip to their respective boats. We tied up the dink, removed blockages to the four cleats, and scraped crud off the prop. We are ready. Last night we hosted the crew on Sound Effects for libations, and snacks and swapped stories. Should be an adventure and everyone is up for the experience. There is a good chance this transit will take 2 days so stay tuned for the post mortem.
For those interested there is a web site: pancanal.com for viewing the transit.
There is a section called multi media which lists the cameras.
We will transit the Mira Flores locks in the am (scheduled for 9:45 local)
The Gatun lakes will either be late afternoon or most likely the next day at a yet to be determined time.
We will be waving you should be watching.
