Flip flops

Well I finally took the plunge and got my first pair of flip flops. I have been wearing my crocs for years now and have now worn out three pair on the trip.
When the bottom of the crocs wear out they are very slippery on wet smooth surfaces like pavement or rocks and I have fallen or almost fallen many times.
So my purchase of the new flop flops was primarily a safety precaution. I have been looking at peoples feet and apparently most of the world wears some sort of flip flop at least in tropical climates.. However I got nice ones from Reef and a cruise ship tourist gave me the run down on the model I have apparently called "slaps" They have a special piece of sole in the center that prevents slapping and they are decorated with leather uppers. In fact they are so nice that I take them off if I am near mud, or dirt or salt water and walk barefoot!.
