International boats

One of the things that is very different about the Caribbean side of things are the numbers of international boats. In Mexico the majority are US flagged vessels followed by Canadian. In Panama we began to see the many international boats, but thought after all Panama is the crossroads of the world. However here in Roatan the international flavor continues. In our anchorage are 3 boats from Australia, one British, 5-6 French, 1 German, Beligum, and of course many Canandian. We have also met a couple from Switzerland. The interesting thing is that many of the people have purchased their boats here and are cruising the Carribean. In the case of two of the Auzzies they bought in Florida and are taking the boats home after an extended cruise and expect to sell at a profit!. The Canadians have also bought in Florida and in one case the Bahamas but they have no intention of sailing back to western Canada. In this anchorage right now Americans are a distinct minority.
For those of you wondering the picture is of an Auzzie boat.
