Another Week and Nothing to Show For It!
30 May 2006 | Hawaii Yacht Club, Honolulu
Mark
Well, besides being a tourist we haven't worked to hard. The weather has been hot and we have guests, Kelly and Robbie, staying with us. We've seen the sights, had a few beer, and have done a lot of sleeping in. I feel like I should have a lot more to write but, really, we've been pretty lazy. Oh yeah, I've caught a ton of hockey games at my second home, the nearby bar.
Today we did do something quite fun! We've got a rental car so we headed to a place called "Sandy Beach." The tourist guides say that because of the big surf it is very dangerous and swimming is not advised. Well, we had a hoot! Dee and Kelly wouldn't go in much past their ankles but still got pummeled by the odd rogue wave. Robbie and I, especially Robbie, ventured further out in the break zone where 4-8 foot waves were crashing down. A couple of times I thought I was going to get killed! Robbie nearly did when he was picked up and slammed into the sand by a biggie. After dissappearing in the foam he stood up holding his head just as another huge wave . What a hoot, honest!
Tomorrow we're leaving the yacht club as we've been here as long as we can stay and heading out sailing for the day. When we come back we hope to find another spot in the harbour. The delivery crew arrives Sunday night. The boat is in good shape and ready to head back to Canada and we soon fly back comfortably overhead!
One last thing, We've uploaded some pictures from Maui and Lanai.
