Good Times with Great Friends

We just finished saying good-bye to Steph and Tori, good friends from Victoria, as they headed back north to home. Their eight day trip was a real whirlwind as we crammed in more exploration and activities than we normally do in a month. Luckily, they were up for all the hiking, swimming, and crocodile feeding. Because they were our only visitors from home this season, we really let loose a lot of pent up energy!
Besides being very willing guests, they also turned out to be quite handy crew - who knew? Each morning, before I was even out of bed, Steph was scrubbing the deck while Tori had breakfast and coffee on. I felt like I should have been paying them since they worked so hard. All they ended up getting for their efforts was a Speakeasy hat and crew shirt each. What a rip off for them! Hopefully they also went home with great memories of touring the mangrove swamp, swimming in the hidden waterfall, exploring the abondoned beach hotel, snorkeling, and getting completely ripped on killer-strong margarita's. Tori - I think that Dee is STILL hung over!
Now that they are gone, I have to start cleaning the deck and making coffee myself. It's a tough life!
After dropping Steph and Tori off in Barra de Navidad for the taxi back to the Manzanillo airport, we upped anchor and headed immediately back to Bahia Tenacatita, our semi-permanent home base this year where we do absolutely nothing each day. We will be here for at most another couple of weeks. In fact, starting next week we will be looking for favourable weather windows to get us North around Cabo Corrientes and back into Banderas bay and Puerto Vallarta.
It's time for us to start thinking about prepping the boat for the big crossing of the Pacific Ocean. In just over a month it will be time to sail off toward French Polynesia. That's when the real adventure for this year begins!
