A New Thing: Making Video Boat Ads

21 September 2009 | Every little bit helps the Cruising Kitty!
Capt Rich
I've been thinking about it for a while now and then when a friend with a Pearson 365 sailboat for sale asked me to post his boat listing on my Pearson 365 Sailboat Forum, it was time to put my thinking into action. As an additional way to keep the funds flowing into our cruising kitty, we have started producing Video Boat Ads. Since I have all of the photo and video editing software aboard THIRD DAY it seems like something I can do while cruising.

A quick summary is that when people have a boat to sell, they simply send me photos, video clips, and the specs for their boat and I will then, with a little Hollywood magic, pop out a finished video boat advertisement posted on my New YouTube Site and linked to multiple cruising forums. It's basically a way to use some skills I have to generate a few extra bucks to keep, as I call it, "this traveling circus going"!

I'm still working on pricing and have a few Ads currently in the works for free, just to get the ball rolling. With our modest cruising budget, it wouldn't take a great deal of extra funds to stretch out our cruise and it's something I can easily do over the internet while cruising! Lori thinks this whole idea is just a ploy to allow me even more time playing on the internet and computer when I should be working on my boat "To Do List". Of course she is right as usual, but even she can't argue with trying to earn a few extra coconuts, when the alternative would be heading back to the real world and "reality" ahead of schedule!

So if you have a boat to sell, or know of anyone with a boat to sell, have I got a deal for you and it comes with a free hand bag. If you order now we will throw in all the blog posts you can read, absolutely free! Operators are standing by. Offer not valid in the District of Columbia.
