2011 Cruise Plans and Lies

01 January 2011 | Where will 2011 take THIRD DAY
Capt Rich
As we finish up our first pancakes for 2011, here is what we know about our 2011 Cruising Plans.

San Blas on Jan 15th -??

Puerto Escondido/ Loreto area on April 7th-25th

4th of July Fireworks in San Diego California

All three dates revolve around the West Coast boat show circuit: Seattle in January, Oakland in April, and San Diego in July. Actually knowing where we will be come this April and July goes to illustrate how Cruise RO Water and Power has affected our cruise planning because last January 1st, we didn't know if we would ever be leaving our Mexican home port of San Blas!

After spending two summers in the Northern Sea of Cortez we have decided to do something different for Summer 2011 and make a very slow trip up the outside of Baja with the goal of having the San Diego 4th of July fireworks show welcome us back to the United States. In San Diego we can exchange sweltering Sea of Cortez heat for hot buttered rum drinks and flannel sheets! The thought is to start the trip North from La Paz sometime after our Puerto Escondido bottom paint job in April/May. Fishing on the outside of Baja should keep up burdened with more fresh fish than we can eat. Since we have only seen two of the many great anchorages on the outside of Baja, we should have many new places to explore with plenty of time to do it without feeling the typical "Baja Bash" pressures of schedule and weather windows.

That's it. That's all we know at the moment, which is of course subject to change, as is any good cruise plan. Who knows, if our friends on Just a Minute make their May 2011 run to Hawaii they just may have an odd looking shadow.
