Emergency on THIRD DAY
11 December 2011 | La Paz
Captain Lori
I am posting this late in the day knowing that Rich will not have time to look at the blog. I am not sure what will happen once he gets back on board and finds out the harsh reality of life as it stands now. This could become a medical emergency.
It is well known that Rich likes his food, whether it is tacos, brownies, cookies, homemade enchiladas... During his numerous driving trips he has always kept us well stocked in the dairy department as he keeps his security blanket of cheese and butter on hand at all times. This way if any problem comes up he can find solace close by. Well, he is flying back on this trip and he will not be able to carry any items that need refrigeration home with him and we are down to one stick of real creamery butter. So, if you hear a great wailing and gnashing of teeth you will know that he has discovered the lack of comfort in the freezer.
There is mantiquilla (butter) here in La Paz but it has a different flavor. Rich has not gotten used to it as he has not had to. Now he will have to expand his horizons and learn to value a new taste--or he will slowly (OK, maybe quickly) lose his mind. Either way, he will survive but it may not be pretty. I am afraid that he will go on a taco binge to drown his sorrow.
If anyone finds Rich wandering the streets with a forlorn look on his face, please send him home. Just call THIRD DAY on Ch 22 in La Paz and we will come and get him. Thanks.......
