All I Want For Fathers Day:

15 June 2013 | A Nap
Capt Rich
Not a trip to Disney Land.
Not a BBQ or Party. No tie or new shirt. But after the last 6 weeks of whirlwind work, all I really want for Fathers Day is a Nap, but since I will be traveling to Wyoming for a work trip tomorrow on Sunday, I have been lying on the couch napping all day today. Why would a guy selling cruising gear (water makers, marine refrigeration, alternators, wind generators, etc) be making a business trip to Wyoming? Well, that is a good question since the land locked State is not exactly a hotbed of marine activity.

About a month ago, we were contacted by a company in Papua New Guinea that was working with the Counties Government to install Solar Refrigerators in remote villages. After some design engineering work we currently have a test refrigeration box 6ft x 6ft x 6ft running off a 500W solar array. The unit has been running now for a week and the folks from Papua New Guinea are flying in to see the unit so my partner Charlie and I are heading up to meet with them and review the technology. I still don't fully know the Wyoming connection, but the checks have been coming out of Wyoming and they didn't bounce, so Wyoming here I come! I was telling Lori that I was trying to weasle a trip to Papua New Guinea into the deal but then when I saw some photos of the villages these refrigeration units were being sent, it makes the smallest of Mexican towns look like high tech modern mega-towns, so I crossed that idea off my list.
