Last night Amy had a sleep-over on her friends boat and had a great time. Honestly, it's hard to come up with a few paragraphs to describe what it is like here in Bahia Santa Maria with 140 boats and about 640 people. Once we arrive in Cabo or La Paz, I will go back and add some photos to the previous blog posts because sometimes so much can be said by a single photo.

I was up before sunrise this morning and took the dingy in through the surf to set up my camera to catch the sunrise over Bahia Santa Maria with all the boats at anchor. It was a trip well worth making and I can't wait to share that footage along with some of the other great stuff I've been filming during this trip. I'll start working on the Baja Ha-ha DVD as soon as the rally ends in Cabo and the plan is to spend some serious time on the project while in La Paz.

We are about to head to the beach for another party. The highlight of today's party is a rock-n-roll band that traveled 60 miles down the beach at low tide (because there is no road coming here) to play for today. The locals are also preparing food for the whole fleet. For $12 they are cooking Shrimp, rice, beans, salad, tortillas, and are selling beer at $2 each. When you realize that there is no road into Bahia Santa Maria and that all supplies are trucked down the beach at low tide, the party, food and beer are a deal.

I gave some water to a boat this morning that ran out, which is a good way to make friends and another advantage of having a huge water maker. We also started the morning down about 200 Amp hours, which is about 30% of our battery capacity. After running our 105AMP alternator on the water maker/generator combo unit, we are now have a full battery bank again. It's amazing to see 100AMPS going back into the battery bank all without having to run the main engine.

For some personal updates: Vern, I missed radio night last night because of some filming I was doing over on the kids party boat, but all is well here and I should be on tonight. Dad, There isn't anything I need to do for you to call me on the SatPhone, however, from the people I have spoken to in the rally that have a SatPhone, they inform me that you may have to talk with your phone carrier to activate international calling and the ability to call an Iridium SatPhone. They do this because when people call me on the SatPhone, the charges are billed to the caller and not me.
