Side Notes

02 April 2016
I am posting several blogs today. How do I become so busy that I don't have time to blog?

Also, a word about Mariachis. Remember when a Mariachi band was a few guys decked out in costumes of black pants embellished with silver ornaments down the sides, bolero jackets and sombreros? It usually consisted of a couple of guitar players, a trumpet, violin, maybe an accordion.

We had an experience on the beach in Bahia Falsa, La Paz. A party of four youths must have hired these guys for the night because they played for the duration of our dinner on and until 9pm; No costumes, a big tuba and one guy singing his heart out reading the lyrics from his cell phone. There must have been a trumpet and guitar player but all I can remember is that tuba. Pa Pa Pa Pa PA!

Sitting in the marina in Mazatlan, one of the tour boats pulled up to let the paying customers off and there was this same band aboard. I think they followed us.
