Life Pod
08 July 2016
I thought this small out take of a conversation Brian was having with someone sums up the reasoning behind our air conditioning purchase.
"It's not as much sunny as it is (bleep) hot as all hell with a side of (bleep) humidity. Put a window unit air conditioner in, in an attempt to convert a sailboat into a life pod".
Honestly, we held out as long as we could. Before we left San Diego, fellow sailors that had been here during the summer would tell us "Oh. You're going to need an air conditioner", to which Brian would reply "I grew up in Florida....". I think we were dealing with it until it stopped cooling down at night. It's hard to sleep when it's 90 degrees in the cabin. The fans just feel like a heater blowing on you.
We're still alive. The life pod is a success. We just have to remember to leave the boat occasionally.
