While in Tenacatita, we followed our friends on a dinghy ride up the estuary. The estuary water was murky and we were bordered on both sides by mangroves. The estuary was quite narrow at some points and formed a natural arbor above our heads. The panga boat owners keep the mangroves at bay because they take people on tours. It would have been fairly exciting to come around a bend and see a panga heading right at us. Luckily we only passed one and he was stopped. We still had to hold on to his boat to squeak by him. We saw a few birds and some crabs in the mangroves and luckily no crocodiles.
