The passing of my life mate has ended the cruise of Why Knot. Thanks to those that followed her voyages. It gave us wonderful memories and a heck of a life

Our greatest challenge was to actually bring in the dock
lines at our home port and get going. Next came the actual
act of living aboard which is way different than weekending or
the occasional extended sail. This is life avoiding causing your
mate to drop stuff or run into bulkheads. This is having so much
stuff aboard that one has to inventory. This is life without land
transportation in strange places. This is meeting folks and hating
to say good bye, then looking forward to the time when courses cross
again, to the surprise of seeing them at some unexpected place.

As nice as this place and the staff are, the Bear is starting to pace the cage (box). Since I have spent all but two nights with Bear in the hospital, I am also pacing the cage. She is recovering nicely to the point that it is time to head back to the house, thence the boat. In the past 20 years, we have not been away from the boat this long at one stretch. One can only guess what evil Little Prick has delivered to Why Knot in our absence. I am guessing he has thrown a party or two and has now hidden all sorts of gotchas for us to find upon return.
We learned that we might be discharged today or tomorrow. That put a smile on the faces of the crew of Why Knot
