Rain at last
RELIEF
October 10, 2011
It is 0500 and it’s raining catz and dawgz here in the Hill Country. I cannot remember the last such rain we had but I think it has been well over six months. So what’s an old sailor supposed to do if he cannot be aboard? Simple. Grab a brush and back the car out of the garage into the rain and wash it. I know that might seem a bit weird but it seemed like a good idea whilst enjoying the first cup of coffee. After all, the well water around here does not dry clear so rain is the best idea. No one caught me doing it since it was way to early for our geriatric neighbors. That done, it was breakfast and light off the old computer for this note. All of this happened before first light.
Ya think we might just be missing the boat? Why Knot is in the yard on stands and waiting for her new bright red bottom paint. As is usually the case, it is supposed to rain in Wilmington next week but hopefully, they can get it done. Bear will have family here with her as I travel to Wilmington to tend to WK. She is making progress on the slow road to recovery. That back thing is a bit more difficult than a neck thing and it is testing her patience.
Guess I will head back outside and stand in the rain for a bit. Good stuff for this part of Texas, the Republic Of. So far, we have measured three inches overnight. Wow.
