From Spring to Winter

Temperature Nosedive
April 15, 2014
We awoke to a mild morning and over the course of the day the barometer took a dive as did the temperature. Being creatures of the weather, we stayed below and listened to the winds and the rains. Thirty degrees later it is almost bed time and I am listening to the three types of raindrops: the light mist, the big drops from the rigging and the water running off the bimini. If we were ashore, we would pay little attention to the weather.
Still facing a rather lengthly to do list, I am adding stuff to it. The toe rails are prepped for either varnish or oil. The engine needs attention but it is hard to be motivated when the crew is outside as they need to be which is to say that if the weather is good enough to sit topside, it is also too good to be buried upside down in the engine compartment with oil dripping from ones nose.
So, the rain is now hitting the hull of the boat and we are rolling in the slip about 15 degrees. We might as well be at sea for all the wave action we are seeing. Where the heck did spring go?
