A misty morning but what a beautiful sight. Sailed from kingairloch across to port appin hoping for breakfast at the hotel. We used a mooring buoy next to the pier. Soooo with an audience (never a good sign), we wrestled the dingy out of its bag, pumped it up, dragged it to the back of the boat and placed the outboard motor on, back on with our life jackets and jumped into the dingy made our way to the pier scrambled onto land and then felt it necessary to explain to the crowd waiting for the ferry “the things you do for a cooked breakfast!”. Well, didn’t we feel stupid when we were told the kitchen had just closed ☹️, so it was coffee and toast, never mind, we also picked up some local milk.
Then at noon we set off to catch the slack tide which flows in and out of loch creran, we were a little early so we had 3kts against us but good old windsong looked after us. Secured a mooring buoy at the creagan pub and had dinner there after a walk around the lake (which is after the bridge, with a 16mtr clearance, windsong is 16.5mtr, yes, Phil did say we could make it at a low tide, thought it was best not to try).
