Massacre cave

22 May 2023
Katrina Wright
Well what can I say, a very lumpy bumpy anchorage but we managed to get ashore on the dingy and it is definitely one to return to. Eigg did not disappoint, a great community, self sufficient for electricity and a thriving community. Even the showers were contactless!! Not realising there were showers we were totally unprepared but we definitely needed one, so a pop to the shops to purchase soap and using a t-shirt as a towel (do not worry, no flashing, 23 worse several layers, but that was how desperate we were fit a shower!). We also had a walk to massacre cave! It's a short walk out of the harbour and down to the shore, timing it right for the low tide. After we had a peak into the entrance and seeing the warning sign guns we walked along the rocks, as soon as we moved away two women walked into the cave - they must be crazy!!!! Picture shows the warning signs 🫣
