Still on the move

We are still moving north in the Sea of Cortez having spent last night at Bahia San Pedro, a nice calm cove. It was an easy motor north along the coast being joined by pelicans, sea gulls and small ducks all playing in the water as we moved along. We were joined late in the afternoon by a bigger motor cruiser that came with two jet skies going around and around in the bay passing close to us from time to time disturbing our quiet. Hey, its a power boater right to disturb others in an anchorage. It was a nice night with decent star gazing though I sat out for a while and again, saw no falling starts. Quite disappointing. I came in and finally headed for bed. This morning, we pulled up the anchor about 0734 and headed out, this time for Las Cocinas, another 15 mile trip that makes the kids happy as they come out and walk around the deck once we get there. Blue has even started coming out in the daylight which she has never done before, choosing to stay in the shade of the cabin. There is a continuing battle between the pelicans, sea gulls and other birds for food. The pelicans dive over and over with the other birds making pests out of them selves trying to get the fish the first bird caught, screaming and pecking at the other birds. The Frigate birds can't land in the water so they swoop down over and over trying to knock the fish from who ever has it. Very aggressive birds. We've been seeing numerous fishing pangas as we continue north but have wondered what they do with the fish they catch. We see then coming in at night or in the day and wonder what happens to what they catch as they can't eat all of it and there are no towns close by to buy their fish. Puzzled. We are still motoring along as the south winds that were forecast to start today were delayed by Mother Nature for at least another day darn it. It makes the trip sort of boring. As we move along, we see numerous small homes along the coast with dirt roads coming down to them but it's miles from any where. Gentle ripples slowly move across the top of the water like dark velvet fabric.
