Bill/sunny and warm
For those of you that haven’t been following us in a while, we’ve been knee deep in project and insurance companies since we got home. The latest was getting the roof replaced due to hail damage. That’s almost done and the workers that were to replace and refinish the wood floors on the first floor due to a big water leak just made thing a whole lot worse by breaking the water line to the water maker on the fridge. That leak wasn’t notice till the next day(yesterday) as no one was allowed in the kitchen. More workers came out in the afternoon and went to work on the new damage. We had four blowers and dehumidifiers running all night long. Two more men showed up today to do what is now called “mitigation “. They’ve been all over under the house getting the standing water out and doing moisture tests on the wood floor. The newest BAD news is that the water migrated under the wall and into the laundry room and under the linoleum and saturated the wood floor under it so now it has to be all taken out and replaced. So now we will have to take the washer and dryer out while that is done plus they are calling in a team to check everything for asbesto! The person who is actually in charge of this repair(corporate)is due out tomorrow to inspect what happened and what needs to be done to get it resolved. I meanwhile have been getting calls from and making calls to our insurance company to let them know what’s going on. They’ve been great with us and we don’t want to ruin that repore.
Meanwhile our poor cats are going crazy not knowing if it’s safe to came out with all the workmen and the pounding and all the blowers running where they normally live. At least they come out once everyone is gone and they can chill out a little before it starts again the next morning.
Tracy is a bit stressed with all this confusion and just wishes it was all over but with us now needing a new floor in the laundry and that they will probably have to rip out the floor in the kitchen, we are far from having this over with. Are we having fun yet?

La Panga Restaurant and Marina Palmira office
You put your trash out in trash cans by the curb. Here, they put it in raised steel containers to keep animals out of it while awaiting pickup.
OK, sounds like a restaurant I want to try. Nothing wrong with a skull on the sign.
