And the “Cluster F”continues!

Bill/sunny and warm
And so the saga continues with more problems. I thought once we got back to our house that everything would be so much better than all the things required to keep a boat running smoothly. No so.
The final coat of polyurethane went a few days ago and with that behind us, we closed in on finishing or so we thought. On Tuesday a workman showed up and reinstalled the commode in the first floor. Another thing taken care of.
Before he did that, we installed the moulding behind the commode as once it was in, you can’t get the stick back there. With the wax ring installed and the water feedlines the commode was in. By wednesday(yesterday) we found that the boards behind the commode were cupped and the new finish was peeling off. Calls were made and another repair man from Deltal Disaster stopped by to see what was going on and get the moulding and kickplate in the kitchen and the insulation in the crawlspace reinstalled. He took the commode off and checked the oak floor. No water but his moisture meter that checks the moisture in the floor was about 50. The rest of the floor tested out at about 7 so we knew there was moisture in there somewhere but we had no idea where it was coming from. The supply lines to the commode were dry. The surface of the wood was dry. He checked in the crawlspace at the underlayment and it was dry yet the moisture content of the boards was off the charts. More calls were made and now arrangements are being made to have the new oak floor taken out again. That means the blowers and dehumidifiers will be back roaring away again. As for the waterline to the fridges ice maker that broke two weeks ago, well it still hasn’t been replaced and we found out yesterday that the person in charge of our repairs is on vacation (till September 6th)and no one in the company is willing to take the responsibility of saying “yes”to replacing the waterline so I just keep buying ice at the store.
They brought back our water stained rug and pad but can’t seem to find the roll of Karastan carpet that they took away two weeks ago. It appears to be missing and may have been thrown away but they aren’t sure.
I’ve been in constant contact with our insurance company so they know what’s going in this desaster sage.
