First of all I have to eat my words about getting in on the 6th. The ETA remains the 7th with the time having to be defined later. We are encountering stiff headwinds directly from the direction of travel and have to tack our way into the English Channel. We could not have timed our arrival any worse. The Easterly winds are forecast to persist through Saturday which means we are in for a long slog upwind with the distance to travel increasing with every tack. Whilst we are well below 400 Nm from Lymington as the crows fly, we potentially have to sail around 500 Nm to get there. This is Ocean Sailing though. The weather is beautiful and our speed over ground is pretty good as well. We will have to reduce our sail area further shortly as the wind is picking up and we want to be careful with both the crew and the boat.
All OK on board TWD - E TWS - 20 kn COG - 155 deg SOG - 7.5 - 8.5 kn Baro - 1025 weather - sunny but cold ETA - June 7, 2013
