Hi all, a quick update from Brunsbuettel- a - beam. We left Cuxhaven together with "Antje" at 1300 in 25 kn very gusty SW and driving rain - what kind of summer is this? It just stopped rainnig a few minutes ago and we are following Antje who zoomes ahead of us towards Wedel. At he moment [...]

ETA for Hamburg: Mo 21:30

Hi all, after a sunny warm morning we had a showery front with strong gusts to pass us. At least the wind veered now from SE to SW so we should be able to sail tomorrow the last 55 nm to the city center of Hamburg, the strong 2-4 kn flood current will help us for 6 hours. Our arrival time is still scheduled for 21:30. Our phone numbers here on board are: 0175-1976094 0170-8140365 Andrea and I are sharing the phone with these two numbers, one should work.

departed Helgoland, arrived Cuxhaven

Hi all, we had a good time at Helgoland:: birthday dinner, Martin's farewell, visit of the "Duehne" (amall island next to Helgoland with beaches and seal colony), drank "Helgolaender Eiergrog" (hot alcoholic beverage with Rum and an eggyolk) and went swimming at the heated seawater [...]

arrived in Germany

Hi all, this morning at 1040 we arrived happy and safely at Helgoland. We got a great welcome by Lennard, Emily, Kati, Dorle (sister), Manfred (brother in law), Kerstin (niece), Hanne (niece's daughter) and Nils (niece's son). Then my aunt rang from Hamburg and told me to tune into a cerrtain Hamburg radio station where we heard her greetings and a song played for our arrival and my birthday - how nice!. Manfred organised a special berth alongside the jetty, the sun is shining the whole day and it got rather warm - so so all is good here! AHOI! Arne and the Iemanja crew and welcomers

Hi all, we have 250 nm to go to St. Lucia; after a kickstart from French Guyana with good wind and current, the second day of our voyage was very slow in light winds and no more current once we were in the deep water. Now the ENE tradewind is back with 15 kn and we have a comfortable trip in sunshine with some Simpsons-clouds and 1.5m seas. Here is some info how we have planned the remaining voyage to Hamburg: After St. Lucia we will sail further north to Antigua with a possible baguette-shopping-stop at Martinique. On the 5th of May Kati and kids are flying from Antigua to Hamburg to initially stay with my sister and then visit Kati's family and friends. So they will have more time in Germany and don't need to do another 4.000 nm of ocean passages in possible colder and rougher conditions. Kati feels that she has done enough of sailing and for the children the long passages are often a boring time with the odd highlight of visiting dolphins, catching a fish or seeing the green flash when the sun goes down. So from Antigua on I will continue with crew: end of April Andrea, the partner of my cousin Klaus, will come on bord in Antigua . Next stop will be the Azores where my friend Martin will join us beginning of June for the passage to Germany. For the 2500 nm passage from Antigua to the Azores (6.May to end of May) there would be still one berth vacant - if someone out of my circle of friends is keen to see a lot of water, please contact me now!

Greetings from the Iemanja crew Lennard, Emily, Kati and Arne AHOI!

PS: we are looking for a housesitter for June + July when Ed is in Germany
