Giving Thanks

For the first time ever, the four of us were in three different countries on Thanksgiving day. Colin is off in the UK on business, Evelyn spent the day traveling from Charleston to Nova Scotia, and Leslie and I stayed here, where we were graciously welcomed to the family Thanksgiving dinner of friends in the area. We baked up a batch of Ellen's Dessert to take with us, which is significant because we know these friends through my aunt Ellen, after whom the dessert is named, and who hosts our extended family Thanksgiving, which we were unable to attend. It was well received and even prompted a few stories.
The list of things for which I am thankful is very long and grows regularly, but right at the top are my husband and two daughters, who fill my life with joy and keep it interesting and rewarding. We are so fortunate to be able to take an extended cruise like this; being scattered for the holiday is really just a minor glitch.
