We finally made it to Houghton....about a week later than we had hoped, but we're here. It was a long 40-mile run up the Keewenaw Penninsula from Ontonogon to the upper entry and we ended motoring all but the first 10 miles: the winds were actually too light to sail. The upper entry brought us into the Keewenaw Waterway, a series of canals and lakes that leads through the center of the Keewenaw penninsula. The city of Houghton (home of Michigan tech) is 10 miles down the waterway and we arrived here at about 4 this afternoon. The waterway itself is gorgeous, its so strange to see trees up close while underway, especially on both sides!
