Misima Tour

First thing in the morning Clear Horizons hosted a skippers meeting. Most of the fleet elected to stay on another day with Salacia and Avante heading off to explore further afield.
Graeme went ashore for bakery goodies again (he's terrible) but due to it being a Sunday the bakery had only been open between 6 and 8am, so he missed out on his muffins. Taben was still hanging around and looking for a lift back to his island but we're not going that way...
Andy (affectionately known as Dr Wong) from Quintessa organised an island tour for any takers. We met ashore and managed to squeeze 24 of us into the back of a truck on bench seats, protected from the drizzle by a tarp over a framework. And so began Dr Wong's Island Tour. We visited a couple of schools, a church (the service had just finished) and a beach, where we watched a group of children surfing in the shallows, amongst coral outcrops. We were quite amazed how well they did with just some squares of plywood. It was interesting just chugging about the island, up and down steep hills, waving to locals, stopping to chat occasionally, looking at the tropical forest scenery, the 'gardens', grey pigs rooting around the base of banana plants, chickens and roosters, scrawny dogs, shabby children...
Back at the boats a couple of hours later, we went looking for the mysterious croc and somehow ended up on Quintessa for a baked dinner, where we all chipped in and helped peel veggies and the like. There were 11 of us there that night, including the guys from Allusive and Smarty. A great night, if a little impromptu! (And no croc!!)
